They often impersonate financial institutions, including GoDutch. Therefore, it is essential to recognise, prevent, and report fraud effectively.

How to Recognise Fraud

Although fraudsters are using increasingly sophisticated techniques, you can identify fraud by several different indicators, such as one of the following:

  1. Unexpected communication: Be cautious if you receive unusual communication.

  2. Verify the sender: Always check if contact details match the official GoDutch channels. You can find these here: https://www.godutch.com/en/contact.

  3. Request for action: Do not comply with random calls to action. Never share your PIN, security codes, or grant access to your devices.

  4. Pressure to act quickly: Do not let urgency push you into hasty decisions; take the time to verify the message through official channels.

What GoDutch Will Never Do

If you have any doubts about the authenticity of a request, we have compiled a list of things we will never do or ask for.

  1. Request transfers: We will never ask you to transfer money to other accounts, even in emergencies.

  2. Request PIN or security codes: We will never ask you to share your PIN, passwords, or any other security codes.

  3. Physical appointments: We will never initiate a physical visit to your home.

  4. Request access to devices: We will never ask for access to your computer, smartphone, or tablet, nor will we ask you to install any software.

  5. Third-party contact: We will never allow third parties to contact you on our behalf.

When in Doubt: Request Verification

If you are uncertain about the legitimacy of a call, you can request verification by following these steps:

  1. Ask for an official verification.

  2. Provide a PIN of your choice.

  3. We will send this PIN to the email address linked to your account via [email protected].

  4. You will receive the email and verify that the PIN is correct.

Once verified, the conversation can proceed securely.
