By connecting your GoDutch account to your bookkeeping software, you can complete your administration with ease, as all your financial will be displayed in your bookkeeping software in real-time. Please use the steps below to enable the integration with Exact Online's accounting software.

๐Ÿ’ก You can do this connection by yourself - DIY (see Option A) or invite your bookkeeper/controller as a team member to your GoDutch account and let them do the entire process for you (see Option B). The latter option requires a paid plan, but it will save you a significant amount of time.

Option A: Do it yourself (DIY)

Step 1: Add your GoDutch account in your Exact Online administration

In this step, you will be adding your GoDutch account to your administration. If you have already done this, you can skip this step and move to initiate the connection via your GoDutch account. We describe the steps to add your GoDutch account to your administration:

  1. Login to your Exact Online Administration via the Exact Online portal

  2. From the top menu bar, navigate to Bank Accounts -> Overview.

You will see a list of the bank accounts already created in your Exact Online administration.
    โ€‹

  3. Click on the new button 'New' positioned on the top-right corner of the screen to create a new bank account.

    1. In Bank account number insert your GoDutch IBAN directly in the field.
Note: if you click on the 'search' icon of this field, you will only see a limited lists of financial institutions in the modal. Avoid this. Just copy/paste your GoDutch IBAN in the input field

    2. In Bank account type, select 'Business Payment Account'

    3. Leave description empty (your IBAN will automatically be added here)

  4. Expand the container at the bottom of the screen. Under Advanced options, mark this account as the main bank account and add the BIC number: SWNBNL22

  5. Click on your G/L account under the Financial container.

  6. Under the Classification container, add a RGB standardised G/L scheme.
Depending on the category your bookkeeper uses. The most used categories are BLimBanRba and BLim.

  7. Click on 'Save'

Step 2: Initiate the connection via your GoDutch account

  1. Login to your GoDutch account.

  2. Navigate to Integrations and select Exact Online.

  3. Click on 'Connect'.

  4. We will ask you to authenticate with your Exact Online credentials to establish the connection.

  5. Once the connection is established, select your administration from the Administration drop down menu.

  6. Under Journal, select your GoDutch account (IBAN number).

  7. Click on 'Save'.

You are now connected! From now on, all bank entries executed after the connection data will sync automatically with your Exact Online administration.

โ˜๏ธ Please note, transactions before the time-date when the connection was established won't show automatically in your Exact Online administration. You will have to upload these via an MT940.

Option B: Invite your bookkeeper/controller to your GoDutch workspace and let them handle the process

This option will save you lots of time going forward. The bookkeeper/controller will be able to establish the connection for future transactions, export transaction summaries (MT940) for historic transactions and generate custom reports without consuming your time.

The only thing you have to do is to invite your him/her as a team member in your GoDutch workspace before you start the process. Let's call this step 0.

Step 1: Invite your accountant to your GoDutch workspace

  1. Login to your GoDutch account.

  2. Navigate to Members and click on New

  3. Fill in the new member's Personal Details (i.e. your accountant's details).
โ€‹Important: mobile phone number will be used for KYC and identity verification. We suggest your accountant uses the personal mobile number, rather than a company mobile number.

  4. Set the level of Permission you feel comfortable with. 'View' access is sufficient for your bookkeeper to create the connection and generate reports.

  5. Provide an Address for this member. It can be a company address.

  6. Share the invitation link with your bookkeeper.

Voilร ! Your bookkeeper has now been invited to your GoDutch workspace and can generate connections with Exact Online, download bank statements, and generate custom reports when needed, without consuming your time.
