What's a remote access scam?

Remote access scams are when fraudsters contact you pretending to be someone they're not. Then, they convince you to click web links, or download applications, to gain access to your account.

Once they have access, fraudsters will try to get into your financial accounts and information.

How to keep your account secure

Stay alert, and make sure you:

  • Don't download a remote access application such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer β€” we'll never ask you to download software

  • Don't move your money to a 'safe' account, even if someone is saying your account is compromised β€” we'll never ask you to move your money

  • Don't share your password, SMS codes, or forward any security emails to anyone β€” we'll never ask for this information

How to protect yourself from scams

  • If someone claiming to be from GoDutch or Swan asks you to download an application, or visit any weblink (such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer) to get access to your computer or mobile phone, hang up immediately.

  • Report these incidents first thing via the in-app chat or via phone on +31 20 8088 020.
