Closing your account is a simple process, but there are a few important steps to ensure everything goes smoothly and securely. Whether you're the account holder or a legal representative, here’s what you need to know.

Before you start

Make sure your bank balance is zero before requesting account closure. Transfer any remaining funds, so that the balance is neutral.

How to close your account?

Send a request to [email protected]. The account holder or legal representative needs to submit a support request stating they want to close the account. In your email, please include:

  • The name of the organisation

  • Your account details

  • The reason for closing your account

⚠️The request can only be followed if it comes from the legal representative of the account.

How long does it take?

Our support team will keep you updated on the progress. It may take some time to complete all the steps, so we appreciate your patience.

Can your account be closed on your behalf?

GoDutch has the authority to close your account if:

  • There are activities on your account that are not compliant with our guidelines.

  • You haven’t made payments for two consecutive months.

  • Your account is identified as a duplicate.

  • You’re no longer using the product.

  • You do not respond to our communication.

Only the account holder or their legal representative can request an account closure. If a third party wants to do this for you, official authorization is required.
