How to Open a Business Account at GoDutch as a Minor

Great that you want to open a bank account with GoDutch! Since you are under 18, the process is slightly different due to legal requirements. Don’t worry, it’s still simple and can be done in a few steps.

1. Registration Process
Visit the GoDutch website and have an adult representative (such as a parent or guardian) submit the application for the starter package. Minors are not eligible for the free account. The adult representative must enter their own details, including name, phone number, and address, and complete ID verification.

A power of attorney must be filled out and signed by the minor (the company’s representative). This power of attorney, along with a color copy of the minor’s ID and birth certificate, must be uploaded during onboarding.

2. Verification and Approval
The adult representative completes the personal verification using their own phone number. Once verification is successfully completed, the account will be reviewed and approved.

3. Access for the Minor
The adult representative can then add the minor as a user in the GoDutch web app with full access. The instructions to do so can be found here.

4. Verification of the Minor User
The minor clicks the shared link and completes the verification steps. Once verified, the minor gains full access to the app and all account functionalities.

Once verification is complete, you can start managing and using the account. Download the app and begin handling your money right away!

Important: While you are under 18, the adult representative remains the manager of the account. Once you turn 18, you can take full control of the account yourself.
