How to connect your GoDutch account to Twinfield

On this page you'll find how to enable the accounting integration between GoDutch and Twinfield.

Written by Huyghen

By connecting your GoDutch account to your bookkeeping software, you can complete your administration with ease, as all your financial data will be displayed in your bookkeeping software in real time. Use the steps below to enable the integration with Twinfield accounting software.

💡 You can enable this integration yourself (see Option A), or you can invite your bookkeeper/controller as a team member in your GoDutch account and let them carry out the entire process (see Option B). The latter option requires a paid plan, but it saves you a lot of time. Keep in mind that you need full administration rights, including the ability to create bank entries in your accounting software, to set up the integration.

What we recommend:

  • Option A → If you don't work with a bookkeeper or accountant.

  • Option B → If you do work with a bookkeeper or accountant.

Prerequisites

Before you start, make sure you have the following in place:

  • 👤 You have full administration rights in GoDutch, including the ability to create bank entries.

  • 🔑 Your Twinfield user has at least a role between Lvl 1 and Lvl 4. Some functionalities, such as bank statement integration, require this minimum access level.

How to check your user role in Twinfield:

Go to Settings (the three dots on the left) → Access settingsUsersUser settings.

Option A: do it yourself

Step 1: Set up the connection

  1. Log in to your GoDutch account.

  2. Navigate to Integrations and select Twinfield.

  3. Click Connect.

  4. Choose a name for your connection.

    • ℹ️ Can't see the connection name field? Then you can skip this step and continue.

  5. Click Authorise to finalise the connection.

Step 2: Authenticate

You'll be redirected to the login page to authenticate yourself and authorise the connection. Twinfield is part of the Wolters Kluwer group and uses the Wolters Kluwer OAuth2 authorisation protocol.

  1. Click the blue Login with Wolters Kluwer Account button.

  2. Enter the credentials for your Wolters Kluwer account and click Login.

  3. Fill in the one-time password.

  4. You'll now see a permission screen where Chift requests access. The following permissions are ticked by default:

    • Your user identifier (required) — your user ID.

    • User — know who you are in Twinfield Accounting.

    • Organisation Profile — view your organisational information.

    • Organisation User — view your basic profile information.

    • Offline access — this access remains active while you're offline.

    • Remember My Decision — remembers your choice for next time.

  5. Authorise access by clicking Yes, Allow.

ℹ️ You may see Chift displayed as "Uncertified" on this screen. This is normal and doesn't affect the connection.

The connection is now active! From now on, all executed bank transactions will be visible in your Twinfield administration.

☝️ Please note: transactions from before the moment the connection was established won't automatically appear in your Twinfield administration. You'll need to upload these via an MT940 file. Contact your bookkeeper for help with this.

Option B: Invite your bookkeeper/accountant to your GoDutch environment and let them carry out the process

  1. Log in to your GoDutch account.

  2. Navigate to Users and click New.

  3. Fill in the personal details of the new team member (i.e. those of your bookkeeper).

    • Important: the mobile phone number is used for KYC and identity verification. We recommend using your bookkeeper's personal mobile number rather than a business number.

  4. Set the desired permission level. 'View only' rights are sufficient for your bookkeeper to create the connection and generate reports.

  5. Add an address for this team member. This can be a business address.

  6. Share the invitation link with your bookkeeper.

Voilà! Your bookkeeper is now invited to your GoDutch environment and can set up integrations with Twinfield, download bank statements, and create custom reports whenever needed – without costing you any extra time.
